Core Competency Webinar

Join us on Tuesday, October 12th from 2:30 - 3:30 pm Eastern Time
Topic - "Facilitates Client Growth"

With the new core competency model came a bit of streamlining, and nowhere is that more evident than in the final competency, Facilitates Client Growth. It rolls together the former competencies of Designing Actions, Planning and Goal Setting, and Managing Progress and Accountability, with a bit of awareness building thrown in for good measure. We'll explore the many facets of this competency, with a special emphasis on the role of coach/client partnership and the connection between starting and ending a session. BONUS: get the inside scoop on the format of the new Coach Knowledge Assessment, which will be rolled out by ICF Global in early 2022.

This will be hosted by Beth Buelow, PCC

ICF Michigan’s Core Coaching Competency Webinar Series

What is it?

This webinar series occurs monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 2:30 - 3:30 pm ET. Each session will focus on one of the ICF Core Competencies. A brief overview of the competency will be provided, but the core learning primarily will occur through group discussion and, as appropriate, coach demonstrations, scenarios, and real-life applications of the competency in a coaching situation.

Why important?
The Core Competencies are the backbone of professional coaching and the credentialing process. As professional coaches it is critical for all of us to understand, and be able to demonstrate, each core coaching competency. Regularly exploring the Core Competencies – in theory, but especially in practice – is essential to one’s development as a coach. This series is part of ICF Michigan’s goal to encourage, support, and provide resources to any coach wishing to become credentialed and grow their skills. Each coach who becomes credentialed elevates the credibility and accountability of the coaching profession by becoming part of a highly respected community.

Who is it for?
Whether you are a coach preparing for your first or next credential, or a more seasoned coach interested in brushing up on your skills, this series promises to be an opportunity for all coaches to learn from one another and share resources.
