Being Connected

Beki Fraser,

2018 ICF Michigan
President

The energy is so different when coaches come together to share space, thoughts and experiences. Several of our ICF Michigan members attended the Midwest Region Coaches Conference (MRCC) in Pittsburgh last month - and it was a fabulous event. If you talk to those who attended, the amazing part of the event was about learning opportunities, getting involved personally, and building your community.

When talking with past president, Vicki Hepler, she said, "The schedule was packed with top-notch speakers and rich breakout session options." She had also raised her hand to volunteer and helped each attendee record attendance in order to get the related CCEUs! The agenda was packed full of a variety of interesting topics and it was hard to choose which to attend!

DeDe Esque of Grand Rapids has returned recently to the ICF Michigan community and what a great chance to connect again. DeDe had not only come to enjoy the learning and community, but also signed up for the Community Service Project. This conference's project was coaching members of the Pittsburgh Nonprofit Community. Her favorite parts of the conference included "The Community Service Project, getting to know Pittsburgh better, and hanging out with the great team of coaches from Michigan!"

Jennifer Wilson of Kalamazoo is currently on the ICF Michigan Board and wrapped up her view in this way: "The MRCC was coaches joining together to share best practices and the whole experience raised the bar for the whole profession of coaching.  I was beyond inspired and can't wait for Detroit 2020 to do it all again."

Yes, that's right! This show is coming local! We have already begun the planning process for the 2020 Midwest Region Coaches Conference hosted in Detroit! Joyce Zerkich of ICF Michigan will be the Steering Committee Chair and is joined by Susanne Cordes-Hoelterhoff who is the Host City Chair. Joyce is already speaking with people across the Midwest to see how they might want to join in to create learning, get actively involved and create a community experience in Detroit. Watch for more details to come on this!

Don't wait until 2020 to join in the fun of a conference. Hopefully, you already know that ICF Michigan is hosting a conference on September 27, 2018 in Lansing to Transform Through Partnership! A great program has been planned to support your learning and a chance to connect with a like-minded community. You can also read more below to see how you can reward your existing business partners by giving them the option to be a sponsor or advertiser for the conference!

We love to interact with our ICF Michigan community and look forward to seeing you, regardless of the event. It's a source of our abundance and our individual transformation. See you soon!
