September 2015

"Make time daily to nurture your physical, mental and
emotional health."

-Lailah Gifty Akita, Beautiful Quotes

Rebecca Kraus, 2015 ICF Michigan President

Dear ICF Michigan Coaches,

Labor Day has come and gone and it seems that 2015 is barreling toward the finishing line of years end with breathless speed! How is it possible that as of this writing while we are enjoying beautiful warm September days, our woolen hats and sweaters are close at hand? Where does time go?

"Make time daily to nurture your physical, mental and emotional health." Lailah Akita's reminder nags at me as I race through the fall months, promising myself that I will work harder at giving myself down time, think time, being present time. How about you?  Am I describing your life?

Have you taken the time to just breathe, to reflect, to take care of yourself, to savor the moment? I know that "taking care of myself" is the last thing I do.  I tend to family, my business, my clients, and I come last. I don't resent it. That is me. But I have come to realize that none of us can do this forever without reaching a point where we say "hey, wait a minute, I am really missing something here." Today's ICF Michigan monthly tele-class with the wonderful Ann-Marie McKelvey helped me realize this when I totally immersed myself in her session and increased my mindfulness of what I was hearing, sensing and discovering.  It was a deep aha moment, a big sigh, and a realization that I must begin to more often provide myself more of these moments.

How can we help ourselves and support each other to be in the moment, to take a day and let it be just about US? You can. Plan on attending our ICF Michigan Annual Conference on October 15, 2015 at the Okemos Conference Center, Okemos, Michigan for a very special day of learning and networking with ICF Members, Associates and guests!

Our theme, "Optimizing Balance: Your Business, Your Life" provides a day's immersionin learning and experiencing ways to care for yourself and your business. The Conference Planning Committee has structured a wonderful day featuring nationally renowned health and wellness keynote speaker Chris Johnson, break-out sessions presenting on everything from coaching presence to relaxation and introspective practices to what will be an AMAZING TED-style panel session with several of our Michigan pioneer coaches! From new member activities to information on our committees and events, great food and networking - there is something for everyone all in one day. Our Early Bird rate has been extended to September 25th. Don't miss out on this opportunity to treat yourself to a day focused on your own personal and business wellness!

More information and the registration link can be found below.

I can't wait to see you in Okemos On October 15th!  Please come find me and introduce yourself - I'd love to get to know each and every one of our incredible coaches!

One with you,

Rebecca Kraus

JUNE 2015 was ICF Membership renewal month!
Beginning in 2015, ICF Michigan has moved our renewal calendar to start our membership year in the month of June. A new membership or a renewal would therefore span from June 2015-June 2016.

Please note that a membership in ICF does not automatically make the person an ICF Michigan member. At the time of joining or renewing your ICF membership you are asked during the process to provide or confirm your local chapter. We encourage you to name ICF Michigan as your home chapter. The ICF Michigan chapter membership fee is separate and in addition to the ICF fee. If you choose not to join ICF, you may still belong to ICF Michigan by utilizing our ICF Michigan Associate Membership classification. It provides a number of the educational benefits the full ICF Member classification, but limits voting and committee participation.

Don't miss benefiting from all we as a chapter have as resources for our members.  Click here to renew!
