ICF Michigan Newsletter

November 2013

Dear ICF Michigan Coaches:

The cold winds of winter have arrived and we are quite fortunate in Michigan to have escaped the severe results of so many tornadoes that struck the Midwest region this past week. Still and all, many of you experienced prolonged loss of power and I hope that by now your power has been restored and your dwelling is cozy warm once again.

With Thanksgiving a week away, there is no better theme for the November newsletter than that of GRATITUDE. While there have certainly been storms and moments of anxiety throughout the past year, I'm feeling an abundance of gratitude at the moment on so many levels. On the professional level, I want to express my gratitude to each of you for making the choice to be a part of the ICF Michigan community and for making this past year of my Presidency so joyful and rewarding.

You may recall that at the beginning of the year I shared the theme of "Engagement" with the hope that all ICF MI members would experience a higher degree of connection to fellow coaches as well as increased passion for the profession of coaching. From all indications, this intention has been realized. Participation levels in all ICF Michigan offerings continue to rise.   The Annual Fall Forum was well attended with over 60 attendees and satisfaction levels (measured through the follow up survey) were exceedingly high with a 90% rate of very satisfied. Monthly Teleclasses and Coach Cafes participation grows monthly.   We now have our new ICF MI website and are pleased at the number of visits it draws daily. Suffice it to say, it's been a very good year for ICF MI and I want to sincerely thank the 2013 Board of Directors for their full engagement and contributions this past year. Each Board member played a critical role in championing the committee work. While they are often behind the scenes, the work that they do is visible to us all and benefits us all.

On the subject of the Board, it's my pleasure to invite you to vote for 2 new members who will begin a 2 year term to the ICF MI Board beginning in January. We have 3 excellent candidates who meet the criteria of ICF membership and ICF accredited coach training. Each of the candidates is either already credentialed or in the process of being credentialed.   The candidates are: Brenda Ball, Lisa Bradley-Mitchell and Kathy Munoz. Since we have two Board positions open, you will need to select 2 of the 3 candidates to fill those positions. Please visit this link and cast your votes before end of day, Friday, November 29.  The results of elections will be announced in the December newsletter.

On behalf of the entire ICF Michigan Board of Directors, I wish you a grateful heart, an abundant coaching practice and a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Warm Regards,

Barb Grigsby
