ICF Michigan Newsletter

November 2015

Rebecca Kraus, 2015 ICF Michigan President

Greetings!

Can you believe THANKSGIVING is right around the corner?

As seems to be a pattern for me, I am writing you from my kitchen table - this time looking out on our first snow of the season! The boughs of the giant pines in our backyard are already coated in white as big fluffy flakes drift slowly through the air. There is something always magical about the first snowfall of the year. I like to think that it is nature's way of telling the plants and trees to rest now, covering them in a blanket of white, to regain their strength for a new year.

As President, I realize I feel the same way in some ways. As our year comes to an end, there are loose ends that need to be addressed so that our Chapter can transition to a new year and a new leader. Approving budgets, identifying volunteers to help us continue to provide our Education and Development programs, cafes' and tele-calls, Outreach, etc. for all of you around our state and beyond our borders. Just as nature prepares the trees and plants over time with the fall of leaves and the end of bloom season, so too our Chapter transitions. The difference is we never take a winter's sleep!!

And so our work to continue to provide our members great value as well as a community to gain support and fulfillment continues. Watch for our upcoming Board of Directors Election ballot coming your way very shortly. This year we have several candidates who have stepped forward to run for the Board and as you review your ballots you will be able to learn more about each of them by reviewing their bios. Be sure to vote!

As you read below you will see that we need your help by completing the ICF Coach Survey. We can all benefit from the break-out Michigan report that will be generated ONLY IF WE REACH 100 RESPONSES. If you have not completed this brief survey, would you please do so now?  If we qualify, all members will be e-mailed a copy!!! LET'S BE ONE OF THE STATES THAT QUALIFY!!!

As we look toward 2016, please consider volunteering with one of our wonderful committees!  You will find the opportunity to learn and collaborate with your fellow coaches, in a way that I guarantee will richen your commitment to coaching and sense of being a part of an extraordinary community. Join us!

To you, your families and all whom you hold dear, have a holiday filled with love and joy.

One with you,

Rebecca Kraus

2015 ICF Michigan President
