Cheers to Another Year Gone By

This year is almost over, can you believe it?  Did the year fly by for you or is it dragging on forever? How are those New Year's resolutions coming? Forgotten long ago or almost to the finish line? Whatever the case for you, 2017 is in fact almost over and 2018 looming right around the corner!

Though any time is a suitable one to stop, reflect and review your goals and accomplishments, the end of a year is an especially appropriate time to do that. May I suggest that instead of reflecting on the many things that you were able to check off your list, satisfying as that may be, that you rather take some time to remember those moments that made you smile, made you feel loved, made you all warm inside, brought joy, brought a tear to your eye, caused you to be amazed or even in awe.  Those moments are what make a month, a year or a decade gratifying and meaningful aren't they? Now, I love to check things off my list as much as anyone and we should absolutely celebrate our accomplishments.  At the same time, I find the satisfaction of that can be ephemeral, and that the things checked off in February are largely forgotten by December. But, those magical moments that happened throughout the year, those are the things remembered and treasured long after the moment is gone.

My wish for you is while you are busy closing out this year and planning for the year ahead, that the last days of 2017 will bring some magic moments that you can cherish in the months and years ahead and that you resolutely remember, as the quote says, ""Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." (Unknown)

Peace, love & joy to you and yours,

Vicki
