Inspiration & Insight

As I travel, I find opportunities to capture memories and share them with others. My most recent trip brought me to Fort McKavett near San Antonio, Texas to shoot the Milky Way. Yes, we made the choice to go to a humid part of Texas at the end of July. That's what I do-I travel to crazy places and create memories.

Regardless of niche, coaches often talk to clients about staying focused and making progress toward their goals. That progress can dip, and it often requires inspiration or new insights to maintain motivation.

Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed. Schedule requirements piling up? Launching a program or a product? Enrolling new clients? Working the networking circuit? Volunteering to support an organization meaningful to you? Maybe you love it, but are you working more and playing less?

My trip to Texas renewed and inspired me. Without access to the internet, I left a significant amount of my technology at home. I'd planned for the absence - even though it was only one business day away! That planning reminded me the value of establishing boundaries for myself between work and play. It also allowed me to be fully present with my friends and refuel the emotional connections. Wandering around at midnight taking photos and simultaneously watching for 'critters' in the area creates significant opportunity for laughter (and other shenanigans!).

Following my trip, I found myself considering the significant part I play in the lives of my clients. I may be like one small star in the Milky Way, but I'll shine as brightly as I can.

As coaches, we are examples to our clients and others within our spheres of influence. We inspire people and support their insights and growth. As we celebrate the successes of our clients, let's remember to reflect and find our own inspiration, as well.

What inspires you in your life?
What inspires you to be a coach?
What new insight does that inspiration offer that you just noticed today?

Based on a recent study by ICF Global, it is estimated there are currently around 53,300 professional coach practitioners worldwide. These regions are followed by Eastern Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean, Asia, Middle East & Africa, and Oceania.

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE

Are you excited by the learning opportunities provided through ICF Michigan? Inspired to join the team and continue the momentum? The Education & Development team is looking for two people to support continued programming!

We are looking for someone to continue organizing and facilitating the monthly Teleclass series as Rebecca Kraus moves to other areas of involvement. We are also looking for someone to join the group hosting the monthly Core Competency calls.

Contact Beki Fraser at Education@ICFMichigan.org for more information. Beki can also be reached (call or text) at 248.320.9556. Let's support the progression of both of these fantastic programs!
